Ken McGoogan, who hitch-hiked to San Francisco in 1966, turned up forty years later in Tasmania. His books include Fatal Passage, Ancient Mariner and Lady Franklin's Revenge (all published by HarperCollins Canada). Having sailed in the Northwest Passage and survived shipwreck in the Indian Ocean, Ken lives in Toronto and remains on the road.
